Painted with acrylics, inks, gouache, then frankensteined in Photoshop. It's a bit different from my original concept idea but I was pressed for time. =| And lo, I present Pidge, King of crumbs and drive by pooping. The pun... was not intended. Really. For Cornell's Urban Bird Celebration artist call. (And yes, there's a big error here.. a tuppans to the first to call it. :P)

80's sundry, equines, gadzooks! Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to make an info sheet to go with this when I put it in the FC Art show.. Big thanks to Ponygirl for the scan. Left to Right: Captain, onager (a type of Asiatic ass- That's the EO logo on his butt) Koosh, burro Orange Blossum, Przewalski's horse Barcode, generic Plains zebra (the barcode was invented some time in the late 70's, but became widely used in the 80's.. fancy that :O) BetaMax, quagga Gouache and color pencil, my first go with this kind of mixed media.. took a bit longer than I would've liked, but for retro ponies I'll spare all the time in the world.

I had the awesome opportunity of meeting children's book illustrator Jim LaMarche, and he demonstrated his mixed media (acrylic washes with color pencil on top) technique for us. I really adore the soft lighting and gorgeous colors from his renderings. After our professional illustrator demos, our homework assignment for the week would be to make a small illustration with the technique of said featured artist. Grahaha, I even managed to scope out his paints while he was working and got most of the colors in his palette XP But anyway.. I give you Mr. Ferret.

Horses of Distinction by Kitsumi

Part 2 of a 2 part painting, though it might be some time before I complete the first segment. I painted this about a year ago for my science illustration class. Both pieces feature current horse species in the world (or an approximation there of.. sans subspecies and such), and are ordered in terms of their endangerment status. Since then, the Prezwalski's horse (not shown) has been reintroduced to the wild and is flourishing, so both piece's accuracy are probably no longer current. Acrylic with some color pencil. Common names, left to right: Mountain Zebra (endangered), Grevy's (endangered), Onager, Asiatic Ass (threatened? Sorry I don'€™t have the info in front of me), and Plains Zebra (common)

Ah, puppy love.. what I wouldn't give for a guy to bring scraps to my door. I was inspired by some of Thornwolf's lovely color pencil work, and gave the purple prismas a whirl.

Occasionally Byee and I will doodle in OC.. for this installment we suggested things for each other to draw. I drew the killer lovebird, hedgie with hedge, and crazy squirrel. He drew Mr. Brian chasing a squirrel out of the house (which was really happening to him at the time, though no brooms were involved :P), a penguin with weapons, bottomost hedgehog, and me when I went to get some fruit. XP
